Lara Marshall is an experienced music business creative marketing consultant. She brings 21 years of marketing experience to MPM, including extensive knowledge and expertise in the dance music world. From early on she cultivated an abiding personal taste that steered her through multiple genres to the secret world of Techno and House club culture. Determined to pursue her passion for the dance music industry, she searched out every possible work experience opportunity through school, art college and university, beginning as a label assistant at Telstar’s dance imprint Multiply Records.
Since 2000, she has specialised in electronic music, working with major labels (Warners, EMI), indie labels (Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels), management companies (ATC, TUSK) and distribution companies (Above Board), building an experienced set of skills that gives her a 360° perspective in the music industry. She has done everything from working on TV advertising campaigns through to campaigns on shoestring budgets. For Lara, the most rewarding part of consultancy is nurturing and developing talent.
Lara has been Head of Marketing at Above Board Distribution (a dance music distribution specialist) for 6 years and continues to work with them on over 300 labels including Gudu (Peggy Gou), Nuvolve (DJ EZ), Midnight Parade (Jaden Thompson), Deviation (Benji B), Hot Creations (Jamie Jones), Crosstown Rebels, Repopulate Mars (Lee Foss), Automatic Alert (Nite Fleit) Drab Queen (Girls Of The Internet) Hoover Sound (Sherelle and Naina), All Day I Dream (Lee Burridge), Kneaded Pains (Dense & Pika), Rekids, Ellum (Maceo Plex), Coconut Beats (HAAi), Re-Dimension (Joseph Capriati), Edible (Eats Everything), Kraftek (Pleasurekraft), Phantasy Sound (Erol Alkan), 2 Crows (Chris Malinchak), Fuse and many more.
